Darren Robinson, Managing Partner at Anderson Wise, has successfully completed a challenging eight-day trek along the Luxembourg Camino, covering 186.4 kilometres. Notably, this inspiring journey, dubbed “The Wise Way – Luxembourg Camino,” was undertaken to raise funds for Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner, an organisation dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families.
Robinson’s motivation for this ambitious endeavour stems from a deeply personal connection. Specifically, Aude François, a Partner at Anderson Wise, witnessed her son Louis’ battle with leukaemia after his diagnosis in October 2022. Fortunately, today, Louis is in complete remission, a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the vital work of organisations like Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner.
The Luxembourg Camino, a local stretch of the famed Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, provided a fitting backdrop for this fundraising initiative. In fact, the “Frënn vum Camino de Santiago de Compostela a.s.b.l.”, a Luxembourgish organisation founded in 2004, has been instrumental in researching, marking, and promoting the Camino de Santiago in Luxembourg. Moreover, the association provides pilgrim passports and collaborates with other organisations.
Robinson began his trek on Valentine’s Day, turning a day of love into an opportunity to show support for children battling cancer. Throughout the journey, each day brought new challenges and camaraderie. At different points, Robinson was joined by friends, family, and colleagues, including Lucas (Louis’ cuddly Monkey), Jacques Robinson (Darren’s Son), David Kitzinger, Hersh Tegala, Agnieszka Parisse, Agathe Schublin, Saskia van Rijswijk, and Megan Troy (Darren’s wife), who walked alongside him.

The journey took Robinson through diverse landscapes.
The culmination of Robinson’s efforts is a GoFundMe campaign, where every penny donated will go directly to Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner.
The Camino de Santiago, or Way of St James, is a network of pilgrimage routes leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, north-western Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the saint are buried. While the main routes lie in Spain, the path extends throughout Europe, including Luxembourg. The “Frënn vum Camino de Santiago de Compostela a.s.b.l.” plays a crucial role in maintaining and promoting the route within Luxembourg, ensuring that pilgrims can experience the spiritual and physical challenges of the journey.
Darren Robinson’s “Wise Way” serves as an inspiring example of how personal challenges can be transformed into opportunities to support meaningful causes. His journey along the Luxembourg Camino has not only raised funds for Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner but has also highlighted the importance of community, perseverance, and hope in the face of adversity.
Those wishing to support Darren’s fundraising efforts can donate to the GoFundMe campaign, with all proceeds going directly to Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner:
